Include problem-solving opportunities utilizing real-world context. Key features include: intercepts; intervals where the function is increasing, decreasing, positive, or negative; relative maximums and minimums. Focus on linear, quadratic, exponential and piecewise-defined functions (limited to absolute value and step).
